Santa Cruz By Night was founded September 2005 as a small live-action roleplaying troupe by UC Santa Cruz Students, with the intention of providing a game with a strong emphasis on roleplaying, characters, and interesting stories.

Santa Cruz By Night is a full member of One World By Night, a network of games across the United States, Canada, Brazil, and New Zealand that share stories and characters.
